Chooks

We like chooks. What could be nicer than watching hens scratching and clucking gently in the garden. Their attention momentarily distracted by a moth flitting by, which they chase with their bustle bouncing.

Fresh eggs are one of the main benefits of home chickens but certainly not the only one. Manure -- a funny subject in itself but excellent for the permaculture garden. Use it as a compost activator or when preparing new garden beds (it must be left to rest for a month or two).
